Layers of Learning Unit 1-20 begins with the Roman empire. This history period includes Augustus Caesar, the praetorian guard, aqueducts and typical Roman homes, Hadrian's wall, and the decline of Rome. The geography in this unit presents a bunch of projects that can be applied to anywhere in the world that interests you and your child, so you can explore on your own, but with cool projects. Science focuses on Fungi. We learn about anatomy of a fungus, spores, mold, yeast, and growing mushrooms. In the arts section learn about how composers write music, the dynamics of music, note names and the staff, and try composing some of your own music.
In each unit you’ll find a recommended library list, important background information about each topic, and lots of activities to choose from for kids of all ages.
