American History

American History begins with the colonial period and ends with the 21st century. Students study the major events, social movements, wars, and economic developments of the nation in chronological order up to the present day.

American History is a complete course for ages 6 to 18. It is hands-on and family-style, meant for families to learn together. Learn more about how Layers of Learning works.

Student Journal

The Book of Years is a combined timeline and history encyclopedia that students assemble themselves with instructions from the Layers of Learning History courses. The Book of Years contains pages for all four years of the four year cycle plus pages for American History.
