Episode 77: Teaching With A Long View

Layers of Learning sisters, Karen and Michelle

The Layers of Learning Podcast with Karen and Michelle is here to help you get your whole family learning together in your homeschool. We are the sisters behind Layers of Learning. We love getting together to chat about homeschooling and this podcast is just a series of our chats. We’re inviting you to listen in on our conversations.

We both have big families, but we teach almost all of our school subjects to everyone at once. We want to help you find the joy in that too, so we talk a lot about family homeschooling. To see all of our episodes, visit our Layers of Learning Podcast Page. Join us as we explore how to have a happy, hands-on, family-style homeschool.

Teaching With A Long View

Homeschooling can feel like a deep, dark tunnel full of unknowns and uncharted territory. Every homeschool parent has seasons of feeling overwhelmed, moments of fear about failing, and the inevitable stress that is a part of being a full-time parent and educator who never gets a break. The world is on your shoulders! We know. We’ve been there. Today, we’re speaking to you from the other end of the tunnel. As two moms who are nearer to the end of our homeschool journey than the beginning, today we want to share with you some of our own experiences and insights. We’ve seen benefits we never planned for and watched good things unfold in our kids’ lives that were never part of the curriculum. Today, we hope to give you a little bit of the long view we’ve seen as we’ve come out the other end of the homeschool tunnel and been able to see the long-term benefits homeschooling has brought to our families. You’ve got this. We’re happy to shine a light in your homeschool tunnel.
