Layers of Learning Unit 4-13 starts with the history of India’s independence movement. You’ll learn about the Indian National Congress, Mohandas Gandhi and his beliefs, the leaders of India at the time of independence, the March to the Sea, and Partition. Next in geography, learn about the people of America. We include immigrants, ethnicities, religions, population density, and American culture. Then experiment with industrial processes in science. You’ll get to make synthetic dye, use natural dyes, make models of polymers, make plastic, test and make adhesives, and make paper and cleaners. Finally, study Pop art and Op art by creating cool visual art like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and others.
In each unit, you’ll find a recommended library list, important background information about each topic, and lots of activities to choose from for kids of all ages.
