Layers of Learning Unit 2-6 starts with Charlemagne and the beginnings of the kings of Europe. We include the Saxon wars and the battle of Roncevaux Pass. The geography of France includes a map, French foods, landmarks of France, and French games. , Next you learn about cells, DNA, parts of cells, microscopes, mitosis, and meiosis. Last, in Carolingian Art, we learn about how Charlemagne’s court led a revival of literature, architecture, music, and scholarship.
