Layers of Learning Unit 1-15 includes hands-on activities. First, learn about the ancient people of North America including the Adena, Hopewell, Olmec, and Maya cultures. Then tour North America as you learn about the cultures, landmarks, and landscapes of the continent from the Canadian tundra to the Mayan Peninsula. We’ll also learn about time zones and International Date Line in this unit. Next, learn about radioactivity, half-life, the conductivity of salts, solubility, and precipitation from solutions in the science section. Finally, in Creative Kids, make up your own commercial, create a puppet show, be a chef, or craft another creative project all your own.
In each unit, you’ll find a recommended library list, important background information about each topic, and lots of activities to choose from for kids of all ages.
