Layers of Learning Unit 1-17 is a complete unit study for history, geography, science, and the arts.

Layers of Learning Unit 1-17 starts with the history of the Celts.  We include a map of Celtic lands, calendars, clothes, the hero Vercingetorix, myths, and religious beliefs.  Then in geography learn about Europe as you create maps, try some foods, play sports, and learn more about the culture of European countries. Next, in science, the flowering plants section includes life cycles, parts of a flower, plant surveys, plant identification, and experiments with plants. Finally in the arts learn about jewelry from cultures around the world as you make some of your own bracelets, necklaces, and hair decorations.  Don’t worry, there are projects for the guys in there too.

In each unit, you’ll find a recommended library list, important background information about each topic, and lots of activities to choose from for kids of all ages.  Sidebars include a bunch more ideas including Additional Layers, Fabulous Facts, On The Web, Writer’s Workshop, Famous Folks, and Teaching Tips.  Printable maps and worksheets are included with each unit and may be printed as often as needed for your family or class.
