Layers of Learning Unit 2-16 starts with the history of medieval China and Japan. Learn about the Tang Period in China, Chinese inventions, the Ming period, the Great Wall, Shintoism, Noh plays, and the Onin War. Then, in geography, study modern Chinese culture and the Chinese people. Next, learn what electricity is and how it is created. You’ll even get to build a Leyden Jar and your own batteries. Finally, make some Asian arts. You’ll practice calligraphy, origami, and Chinese paper cutting and read some tales from the Far East. There are lots of projects and topics to explore for all ages in your family-style homeschool.
