Baroque Art I

This painting is called “The Musician’s Brawl”. It was painted around 1625 by French artist Georges de La Tour. Notice the faces of each of the people and the body language of the two in the middle.
  • Baroque art often shows the moment when earthly people meet the divine.  Look at some examples, like the one below, and then make your own drawing of a divine/angelic/supernatural experience for a normal person.  Remember the intense emotion!
This is Saul on the road to Damascus at the moment when he meets an angel and is forever changed. Painting by Caravaggio.
